SANCTIFICATION IS HOLINESS and is the natural result of justification by faith. Knowing that Christ payed in full for all our sins naturally results in holiness, immediately – our working for God in full confidence of his acceptance. The Christian life naturally consists in good works, because these are the works of faith, or faith that works by love.

If this does not happen – if we do not have these works of love, our conversion was not thorough, we did not realise what we have been saved from, and we have every right to question whether we are saved. OR, if we have ‘good’ works without being justified by faith, the works themselves do not spring from a relationship with God, so it is NOT holiness.
.

The only cure in all cases is to sincerely and honestly confess all our own sins in detail till we reach the fountain of sin and totally break it up. This is needed because people feel as if they are willing to renounce all their sins, taken all together, or in the abstract. But take them up in the detail, one by one, and there are many sins they are unwilling to give up. And until they do, they can have no peace with God who sees all those little sins they have covered up.

SO, ARE YOU WILLING TO  RENOUNCE ALL YOUR SINS?

If so, then you will confess your sins now:

Keith Green’s Final Message

An Introduction By Melody Green

I want to encourage you to read the following article by Keith with an open heart. It was completed only a few days before Keith and two of our children, Josiah and Bethany, went home to be with Jesus in a fatal plane crash. The following message was a real expression of the fresh burden the Lord had put on his heart. As Keith explains, this is so much more than “just another article.” It was something that the Lord had put burning in Keith’s heart and was to be his new emphasis of message to Christians – especially those Christians in America.

I know that most of you are aware of the fact that Keith’s message almost from the start of his ministry, was “get right with God!” He wasn’t very shy about preaching it, and I know that because of his boldness, many hearts opened up to the Holy Spirit’s conviction and the reality of God. Keith so wanted to see every Christian totally sold out to the Lord – not lukewarm or half-hearted – but as he put it in one of his last concerts, bananas for Jesus!

I believe the vision for missions is a completion of Keith’s message for Christians to really be right with God. The question is this – once you are right…then what? do you just sit around in your “rightness”, or do you seek God’s direction to see how and where you can be used most effectively for the Kingdom of God? What the world is dying for is hundreds and thousands of believers who are determined to see the lost find out who their Creator is before they stand before Him on that great and awesome day.

I know it would be Keith’s greatest desire (aside from the salvation of the lost) for you to take this matter seriously before the throne of God. If you will lay all your personal goals at the foot of the cross, and ask Jesus what He wants you to do with your life, then I know Keith’s burden from the Lord will be born in the hearts of many of you – and carried to the ends of the earth! – Melody

Part I: The Call Of The Lord

A Biblical Look At The Missions Call

I recently returned from visiting some overseas missionary bases, and I must say that since returning, my life has not been quite the same. The vision and goals of our ministry have suddenly changed. The Lord definitely did something to my heart on that trip. Besides showing me how small my vision had been, He began to give me a great burden to see the ranks of His army in the field swell!

One of the greatest things God opened my eyes to was how tremendously evangelized my own country was, while the rest of the world was barely being reached. As I traveled from country to country, I thought of the millions of people I was passing through who needed to have the Gospel of Jesus shown to them in a real way – and yet there was hardly anyone there to reach them.

As I visited each mission base, I spoke with different missionaries, and picked up various pieces of literature that told the story of what was being done in different parts of the world to expand the Kingdom of God. As I read the statistics, I was shocked – I really had never known how little the need was being met!

When I returned home, I got hold of some of the leaders of different missionary organizations and set up some meetings to find out more about what was being done to fill the need. After these meetings, I decided to do a study of God’s Word (to see what He had to say about reaching the lost in other countries), and I also read through some more of the missions literature I had been given.

This article is the result of that study, and also a burning desire in my heart to see 100,000 young people released to the mission field over the next five years!

So…why should you go to the mission field?

1) Because Jesus has told you to go.

“Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)

With these words, Jesus made it clear exactly what His disciples were to do – they were to spread His teachings in His name, preaching salvation unto the ends of the earth. (Rom. 10:18) If you consider yourself a “believer”, then you must consider yourself a “disciple” of Jesus – no less called and chosen than the very first 12 apostles. There are no such things as “1st class” Christians and “2nd class” Christians – every believer is called to spread the Good News about Jesus to those who have not yet heard. Jesus’ command is definite and clear – it is His great mandate, His “Great Commission” to the soldiers in His holy army. We must go, because our great General has commanded us to go.

2) You should go because the need is so great.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” (Matt. 9:37-38)

Ever since Jesus first spoke these compassionate words, the supply of workers in the fields of soul-harvest has always been horribly low. But today the need is the greatest it has ever been in the history of mankind. Remember, Hell is not just for the weekend! More people are alive today, and more souls are at stake, than the total number of people who have ever lived on the face of the earth in all of human history! This simply means that we can populate either Heaven or Hell by our obedience or our laziness. There are over 2,700,000,000 people who have never heard the Gospel at all, and there are only 5,000 to 7,000 missionaries worldwide, working directly with these totally unreached groups of people.1 That means there is approximately one missionary for every 450,000 of these people! There are over 16,000 different and distinct cultures and people-groups – even whole countries, where not one single church is in existence.2 There are 7,010 distinct living languages, and 5,199 of them still have no Bible or Scripture translations available in their own language!3 Do these figures move you at all? Does it matter to you that an estimated 80,000 unsaved people die every day (approximately 3,333 every hour…55 people every single minute!) to face the judgment seat of Christ?4

3) You should go because so few Christians are obeying the call, making the need even greater!
“Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ…how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Rom. 10:17,14)

Right now worldwide there are only 85,000 workers on the mission field – working mainly among those who have heard the gospel before.5 This figure includes missionaries from all over the world of every nationality. When you compare this number with the amount of Americans selling Avon or Amway products, it is staggering. Just in America alone there are 435,000 Avon sales-people6 (with 1,280,000 worldwide), and over 750,000 Amway products distributors,7 (with over a million worldwide)! Do you realize that these two companies combined have 14 times more representatives in the United States alone than the Church of Jesus Christ has in the whole world outside of America?

And what about the Christian representatives we do have in the world? Only 9% of the world’s population speaks English, and yet 94% of all ordained preachers in the whole world minister to the 9% who speak English. And 96% of all Christian finances are spent in the United States on 6% of the world’s population. Only 4% of all Christian money is spent on missionary efforts to reach the other 94% of the world’s population! There are over 1,000,000 full-time Christian workers in the United States; while one half of the world’s population (3 major groups – Moslem, Hindu, and Chinese), 2,200,000,000 people, have only 2,417 full-time Christian workers.8 As you can see by these figures, something is definitely wrong. While we in America have approximately one worker for every 230 people – those who have never heard the Gospel even once have one worker for every 450,000 souls! Please forgive us, Jesus, for being too timid to obey You and reach out into all the world like You have commanded us to!

4) You should go because God gives special anointing and grace to those who leave their own land, people, and culture to do God’s will and spread the Gospel.
“And the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go forth from your country and from your relatives, and from your father’s house…and I will bless you and make your name great; and so you shall also be a blessing; and I will bless those that bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’” (Genesis 12:1-3)

Abram ( later to be renamed Abraham by God ) is only one of the many people in the Bible who God used mightily only after he left his own people, his own land, and his own culture. Look at the travels and ministries of people like Jacob and Moses – both of whom had to go into other lands to learn from God and be used by Him.

No matter where you look in the Bible, God always gave a great anointing a and blessing to those who served Him in a foreign land. Look at Joseph and Daniel. They were the only two men in the Bible who God raised up as successful, secular officials in foreign and heathen cultures - and they remained faithful witnesses and servants of God to the very end, and often at the risk of their very lives!

What about Jonah? He was a good example of someone who didn’t want to go to the mission field and preach to heathens! Stubborn, rebellious, and selfish – and yet God “made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.” ( I pray that God would freely move like that in all our lives, “helping” us to make the right decisions about going.)

And then there’s the apostle Paul – who had such a burden for his own people and country, Israel. Oh , how he would have loved a ministry among the Jews! But what did God say? “Go! For I will send you far away to the Gentiles.” (Acts 22:21) That’s what God commanded, and “go” he did. Never was there a missionary like Paul. Take a look at II Corinthians 11 if you’d like to see a list of his qualifications: beatings, imprisonment’s, stonings, mobs, shipwrecks, the list goes on and on – and so did Paul, obeying his Master who bought him.

From Noah to Abraham, from Moses to Jonah, from Daniel to Paul, God has always given special blessing to those who, leaving the comforts of home and relatives, cross the boundaries of their little worlds to bring God’s message and blessing to the nations.

Remember Jesus’ words about this subject, “A prophet is not without honor except in his home town, “(Matt. 13:57)

5) You should go because America (and some other western nations) is literally drenched with the Gospel, while most other countries and cultures of the world do not have any continual, relevant witness a all.
“And thus I aspired to preach the Gospel, not where Christ was already named, that I might not build upon another man’s foundation; but as it is written, ‘They that had no news of Him shall see, and they who have not heard shall understand.’” (Rom. 15:20-21)

It is so true that we here in America are continually bombarded with Christian witness and ministry. Almost at every turn there’s a billboard or a bumper sticker proclaiming something about Jesus. Turn the dial on your radio at any time of the day or night, and you’ve got non-stop preaching. There are several Christian satellite and cable networks. And there are over 250 different Christian magazines and publications. In most cities there’s a church on almost every corner. I am not trying to say that this is all bad – a lot of it is good, winning many souls to Jesus – but as I’ve traveled overseas, it is hard for me to believe that it is God’s will for there to be so much Gospel preaching and literature available here, while there is comparatively little or even none in many places outside of this country.

The world is going to Hell on every continent! Is it God’s fault that so few are hearing the gospel – or is it the Church’s? Aren’t we who love Jesus accountable to reach our generation with the gospel? A friend of mine has written, “this generation of Christians is responsible for this generation of sinners.” If this is true, then each of us must take a good, long look at our lives and priorities – finding out where God would have us begin to get ready to go!

6) You should go because, as Oswald J. Smith said, “No one has the right to hear the Gospel twice, while there remains someone who has not heart it once.”
“But if our Gospel be hidden, it is hidden to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, that they might not see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (II Cor. 4:3-4)

Has it occurred to you that Jesus wants every creature to hear the Gospel? If you had 20 children to feed and plenty of food to feed them all with, do you think it would be right to give 3 of the children 10 meals, 7 children only 1 meal, and the remaining nothing – causing them to die of starvation? That’s exactly what we’re doing with the Gospel in the world today!

Because we believers are so deaf to God’s call to go into all nations, we keep most of God’s resources to ourselves! We keep feeding and reaching the same people over and over again. I am not saying there should be no Gospel preached in America, I am saying that there needs to be a spreading out of the soldiers of God, to fight the enemy where his greatest strongholds are – “where Christ is not already named”!

7) You should go because the time is short. More and more countries are closing their doors to missionaries and the Gospel, and we must go now.
“We must work the works of Him who sent me, as long as it is day; night is coming, when no man can work.” (John 9:4)

I constantly hear of country after country where missionaries used to be welcome, but now the doors are closed to them entering. Though it is true that many Christians can still go to be subtle witnesses as doctors, teachers, engineers, etc., the Gospel can no longer be openly preached in many lands.

Although there are still vast areas of the world wide open for foreign evangelism, such as western Europe, parts of Asia, and most of the Pacific (Japan, South Korea, Singapore, etc.) there are many other countries where it is illegal to hold a street meeting or pass out Gospel literature. We need to sense the urgency of this hour, and obey God by reaching out to those lost in the darkness “while it is still day.”

8.) You should go because the Holy Spirit is speaking to Christian leadership all over the world that it is God’s desire for there to be a great final missionary thrust with the Gospel before the end of the age. It is His desire that every people should have the Gospel preached to them, and that the Gospel should be published in every nation and in every language. And unless YOU get involved personally, there is no hope of that ever happening in our generation!
“…And you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) “And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come. ” ( Matt. 24:14) “The Lord is…patient toward you, not wishing for you to perish but for all to come to repentance.” ( II Peter 3:9)

Is there any doubt in your mind that God wants everyone to be saved? If you believe this, and you really love Jesus, then WHY are you so timid about getting involved in this great thrust to bring the Gospel to all the nations? Do you think that while you’re reading this, God isn’t grieved that His Church is being so lazy and disobedient about fulfilling his commission? He knows that you agree with the Scriptures, and He’s listening to every excuse you’re turning over in your mind like, “Yes, I know that more people need to go…but He just couldn’t mean ME! I’m…just not the ‘missionary-type’…”

In Part 2 of “Why YOU Should Go To The Mission Field,” we will see what “type” of Christian you really are…

Part II: The Most Commonly Heard Excuses

The following objections are just a few of the many that Christian groups and missionary societies constantly hear from prospective recruits for the mission field. Although many may merely be excuses, we have heard them spoken so many times as serious statements from well-meaning Christians in response to the question, “Why don’t you get trained to go into full time Christian service in a foreign country?

1) “But I’m not called.”

You don’t know how many people I’ve met who have said to me “Keith, I agree that more people need to go to the mission field, but I’ve never heard God tell me to go.”

Well, the truth is that God has already told you to go in His Word. In fact, He commands you to go… “Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.” ( Mark 16:15) That’s right… YOU ARE CALLED!

In fact, if you don’t go, you need a specific calling from God to stay home. Has God definitely told you not to “go” somewhere outside your country to preach the Gospel? If He hasn’t, then you’d better start praying WHERE to go, instead of IF you should go – for again, you’re already called!

2) “But God needs people to stay here to be a witness to those lost in America. There’s enough need right here!”

It is true that God has called some people to stay right where they are to be witnesses for Jesus in their daily lives and professions. But again, God is merciful and just. Since America has only about 5% of the world’s population, then only about 5% of the believers would really be called to stay in this country as a witness ( that’s only about 1 out of 20) while the rest of us should go into the parts of the world where there are almost 0% believers. (In Albania, for instance, there are only “a handful” of known believers in the whole country of 2.7 million people – less than 1/2 of 1/1000th percent!!)9

3) “But God needs people to stay home and financially support those ministries and missionaries who are already all over the world. In fact, my church is already supporting some missionaries with my tithes and offerings.”

You should never have to worry about there not being enough Christians staying home to support missionaries! There will always be enough people around who will not answer the call to go – who will stay home and gladly just send a check (instead of themselves) to reach to lost. After all, nothing is easier to give than money (except nothing!).

This does not mean that everyone who stays home is selfish and disobedient. As I’ve already said, there are some who know they are definitely called to stay, and they are doing exactly what God would have them do here, while they greatly support other ministries. I’m just saying that there will always be plenty of people around to financially support the pitifully few who answer the call and obey God.

4) “But my family and friends would frown upon me going.”
“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me…” (Matt. 10:37)

God is very clear about whose approval we should seek. It’s shocking to me how even Christian parents react when their children say that they’d like to go for training as a full-time Christian worker. “A missionary! Are you crazy?!” It’s as if they’ve announced they’d like to be a thief or a prostitute.

It is true that God wants us to honor our parents and love our friends, but He has also made it clear in His Word that this honor and love must not exceed our love and obedience to Him and His calling on our lives. We should always try our best to explain God’s call to our families, lovingly and patiently, but the bottom line must be that we will obey Christ no matter what the cost. We should always try to get our family’s understanding and blessing when God makes our ministry clear to us, but we must also always be ready to leave “houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms” for His sake “and for the Gospel’s sake.” (Mark 10:29)

5) “But I need to stay here and lead my relatives to the Lord first. If I go somewhere else, how can they get saved?”

There was once a man who wanted to follow and obey Jesus, but he said to Him, “Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.” Jesus’ answer to him was, “Follow me; and allow the dead to bury their own dead.” (Matt. 8:21-22)

This may sound cruel of Jesus not to allow the man to have a funeral for his dead father – but most likely, the man’s father had not died yet. The phrase “wait until I bury my father” was sometimes used to say “wait until my father has died.” What he was really saying was, “I’d like to follow You now, but You see, my parents wouldn’t understand. Please wait until after they’ve died, and then I’ll be more than glad to follow You!”

Jesus’ answer was appropriate… “allow the dead to bury their own dead.” In other words, “allow the unbelievers to take care of themselves, and follow Me!” Jesus doesn’t want us to throw our usefulness away because our relatives are not yet saved. The greatest witness they can see is you fully obeying the call of God on your life. Jesus didn’t want this man’s father to be buried – He wanted the young man to follow Him, and then maybe even the man’s father would come to know Him too. Obedience is truly greater than sacrifice (I Samuel 15:22) – when we obey God, He takes care of all our other obligations. (Matt. 6:33)

6) “But I need to get an education first.”

I don’t believe that God wants every Christian to go to college just because, “Well, everyone goes to college now, unless they’re too dumb!” You shouldn’t go to college unless God has definitely called you to go. Just like everything else in our Christian lives, He’s the Master, we’re the servants. He’s the General, we’re the soldiers. If you’re really a Christian, you’re at the beck and command of the King. If you’re not at His command, then you’re really not a Christian.

Yes, God does call some people to go to college. Sometimes it’s to get training for a ministry calling He’s made clear to them. For instance, if you know what country you’re called to, perhaps God would lead you to learn the language and culture somewhat before you go (although the very best place to learn is within the country itself – it’s a definite “crash course”!)

Of course, another reason God might lead you to college is to minister to people right there on the campus – as well as to mature emotionally and spiritually. But be careful! Make sure you’re there in direct obedience to God, or else you’re wasting your time – and His.

7) “But I need to get married first, and then maybe my mate will want to serve God full-time on the field, rather than me going alone.”

Nothing could be a more foolish reason for putting off obeying God now. God does not want you to look for a husband or wife, He wants you to be married to Him, and trust Him for any mate He may bring into your life. I know of many single Christians serving Jesus overseas who are trusting Him for everything. And some of the most beautiful stories of God’s grace I’ve ever heard are told by couples who went to the mission field single, and then God led them to marry another whose heart was also fully devoted to serving Him there. Remember, “Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” (Matt. 6:8) Trust Him!

8.) “But I have a family to support. God doesn’t want me to neglect them, does He?”

The Word of God says, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matt.6:33) If you can trust God for your needs, you can certainly trust Him for your family’s needs. You would never be foolishly “neglecting” your family’s needs by obeying God’s call to go. God will show you the way. I know of so many families – some with many children – who are on the field right now, trusting God for their needs while they minister in His name. I have never heard of ONE occurrence where God didn’t meet the needs of one of His servants and their families. As King David said…

“I have been young, and now I am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, or his descendants begging bread. All day long he is gracious and lends; and his descendants are a blessing.” (Psalm 37:25-26)
9) “But the mission field is dangerous. God would not have me put myself or my family in danger of disease or native hostilities, would he?”
“Why is the Lord bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will become plunder; would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?” (Numbers 14:3)

It is all a matter of our priorities – do we look at the temporary or the eternal in making our choices? It’s true that you will probably be in more physical danger on the mission field than you would be in the suburbs of America, but that is part of the cost that we need to count when it comes to serving God. The question should not be, “Will I be kept safe wherever I go?” but rather, “What is on the Lord’s heart for me to do?”

If Jesus decided to go the way of least pain, He would have never gone to the cross. There is no place of greater blessing for you than in the center of God’s will. You must stop to count the cost, but remember one thing – the privilege of serving God always outweighs the price! “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake and the Gospel’s shall save it.” (Mark 8:34-35)

10) “Although in the past most countries freely allowed foreign missionaries to come, most people in other lands now resent them. Why should I go where I’m not welcomed?”

Did you welcome the Gospel before you were saved? The Word says that we should save some, “snatching them out of the fire,” (Jude 23) Some people just don’t want to be saved! That’s exactly why we need to go to them. The more unwelcome, the better. If they resent Americans, then you have an opportunity to show them that Christian Americans can be humble with the love of Jesus in their hearts. For the Word says, “He who is wise wins souls.” (Proverbs 11;30)

11) “But I could not afford to get the training, and raise the necessary finances to place myself (or my family) on the field.”

Don’t worry, God’ll help raise the money you need. Wherever God guides, He supplies – even if it means helping you get a job! Problems and worries about finances are usually only a surface excuse when it comes to obeying God to go. In your heart you know He’ll make a way for you!

12) “But I don’t have any special talents or abilities that would qualify me to be a missionary.”

Then you’re just the person God is looking for! Sure God can use nurses, teachers, accountants, and mechanics on the field, but it always blesses God to greatly use the one who seemingly has nothing to offer. It is this person who has the opportunity of purely representing Jesus in the endless “common” tasks that are part of the daily life of a missionary. “When I am weak, then I am strong.” (II Cor. 12:10; also see I Cor. 1:26-31)

13) “But how could I commit myself for years and years to go to the field without having a chance to see what it would be like?”

It is true that in past generations a foreign missionary had to make almost a lifetime commitment before he could go to the field. Then in most cases, he had to go to college for at least four years, and then seminary for two to four years before he could even begin his missions training and service. But today there are missionary organizations that have short-term programs for people who want to receive training and find out what serving God in other countries is like. These programs last from a few weeks to a few years in length. So now there is an opportunity to “take a look” before making a much longer commitment.

14) “But God wants me to stay in this country and prosper. The reason the rest of the world is so poor and unconverted is because their heathen religions and idolatry have caused them to live in ignorance and poverty, without God’s blessing.”

This has to be THE most selfish reasoning I’ve ever heard for not going – and I’ve heard it! Of course they live in ignorance and poverty, that’s just the reason you should go – to bring the enlightenment that comes from knowing the truth about Jesus, and to bring them the true riches of knowing Christ. If you don’t believe that the reason God has blessed you with abundance in this country is so you can be a blessing to others – then you have never understood the Gospel of Jesus Christ! “Freely you received, freely give.” (Matt. 10:8)

15) “I’m just not ready to make that kind of a sacrifice and commitment.”

Ah! That’s just the point. That’s probably the underlying reason for almost every one of the above objections. In fact, you might just as well have said, “I’m not willing.” You need to decide whether or not you are a disciple of Jesus – that is the question. If you are His disciple, then “you are not your own…you have been bought with a price.” (I Cor. 6:19-20) And if you truly love Him, then you will not feel bondage, you will feel incredible excitement at being chosen to represent Him in the world! To be a servant of Jesus Christ, an ambassador, a missionary, is the highest calling a man or woman can attain to!

Now what are you waiting for??

What Is A Missionary?

A Christian missionary is a person whose passion is to make the Lord Jesus known to the whole world. They are completely under the command of King Jesus, and they will go anywhere, under any circumstances, for no pay, with poor living conditions and food, even though no one ever notices. They know that their Sovereign is watching every minute, and that is the only reward and joy they seek.

We see in the Bible that all Christians should continually be seeking every opportunity to lead the unsaved to Christ no matter where they are, for this is the privilege of every believer. But I believe that too many people use the word “missionary” too lightly – it’s a term that has become misused in our everyday “Christian vocabulary.” Too many justify their not obeying the call of the Lord to go to the front lines of the battlefield, by saying they are “missionaries where they are.” I believe that “being a missionary” in the truest sense of the word is taking the Gospel where it has never been before, or at least to a different culture or a different language group. A true missionary is someone who will risk everything for the sake of the lost of this world.

Of course, as in every battle, not everyone can be on the front lines, for there are many things that are needed to aid those who are. But you must be clearly called by the Lord to stay away from those front lines before you can be assured that you are in the will of God. It is obviously true that many Christians are called to reach out to the lost in the ghettos, red light districts, and homosexual communities in their own areas. And there are always those faithful wives and mothers who diligently let Christ be known to their doctors, plumbers, and P.T.A. groups. These things bless God’s heart, there’s no doubt about it. Someone who loves Jesus should always be ministering His love no matter where they are. But every Christian should always be willing, ready, and “on-call” to leave everything at the command of their General, and go to a different “battlefield” to war against the king of darkness, bringing healing and light to “free the captives.”

The goal of a true missionary is to please and glorify their God by delivering the whole world into His hands and under His rule. It doesn’t matter where they are stationed, for they are always at home in their Father’s arms, no matter what the landscape or the language may be. They are only “aliens and strangers” (I Peter2:11), and they are not concerned with trivial things like location or comfort. They are God’s soldiers, perhaps hidden to our eyes, but always evident to His. Please, seek Him to see if you might be privileged to take the Gospel to those who have never heard it.

What Shall I Do?

Be Available – Abandon yourself to God and to His call on your life. Tell Him you will go anywhere and do anything that He shows you as His will for you.

Be Informed - Don’t hide behind ignorance. Gather all the information you can so you can pray and seek the Lord intelligently. Subscribe to missions publications and make it a priority to know what’s going on in the world. If you know where the needs are, it will be easier for you to meet some of them.

Be Inspired – Checkout our booklist and get hold of some inspiring biographies of Christian missionaries. You’ll find out that most “missionary greats” are just common people who decided to let their love for God and their love for the lost overrule their own desires in life – allowing God to use them in bold and wonderful ways.

Expect An Open Door - Expect God to give you an opportunity to fully serve Him through this new information you are exposing yourself to. Then when He opens the door – walk through it!

Missions Booklist

The following is a suggested list of excellent books that will help you to learn more about missions – the need, the burden, the lifestyle, and the ministry. Check with your local bookstore – they can order them for you if they don’t have them in stock.

Anointed for Burial -The story of a young American couple from Dallas that the Lord sent to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, while the city was falling to the communist forces of Pol Pot. They held crusades while the city was being bombed and shelled and experienced a remarkable revival among the Christians of the fledgling Church in Cambodia. They miraculously escaped on the very last plane out of the country just before the terrible persecution that was to follow. - by Todd and DeAnn Burke; Logos.

Bruchko – There remarkable story of Bruce Olson. As a 19-year-old American boy, he followed the call of the Lord against incredible odds into the jungles of Venezuela. Near death after being shot with an arrow, he recovered and, all alone, without the help of any missionary society, he evangelized the savage Motilone Indians. - by Bruce Olson; Creation House.

Peace Child – The contemporary story of a man who went into a tribe of stone-age cannibals whose source of tribal pride was seeing “who could be the most treacherous.” Don Richardson and his family lived an incredible adventure among these people and brought them to know and love the true Peace Child. - by Don Richardson; Regal.

Operation World – A Handbook For World Intercession – As well as describing the economic and religious status of each nation, this book tells you what is currently being done to bring these people to Christ. It is an effective prayer tool since it is full of statistics and specific prayer requests for each nation. – by P. J. Johnstone; Send The Light Publications.

The General Next To God – The moving and exciting story of William and Catherine Booth and the founding of the Salvation Army in the slums of England. – by Richard Collier; Fontana.

Through Gates Of Splendor – The story of Jim Elliot from Portland, Oregon, who was one of the five martyrs killed by the Auca Indians (1956) in the jungles of Ecuador. This story will grip your heart and change the way you personally live. – by Elisabeth Elliot; Spire.

Eternity In Their Hearts - This book gives a remarkable insight into the vast opportunities of world evangelism. It shows many factual instances of groups of people who, through their ancient folklore, are totally prepared to receive the Gospel. They are literally waiting for and expecting God to show up. All they need is someone to lead them to the truth. – by Don Richardson; Regal.

Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret – Hudson Taylor was the pioneer of modern faith missions. His life is an incredible adventure as we follow the story of the founding of the China Inland Mission in the 1800s. – by Dr. & Mrs. Howard Taylor; Moody

Key To The Missionary Problem – Although written as a response to the Missions conference of 1901, this summons to action for missions is as burning and contemporary as when first issued. This is a book of great intensity, which sounds forth a rousing and solemn call to new activity, fresh consecration, and more abundant prayer for the cause of missions. - by Andrew Murray; Christian Literature Crusade.

God’s Smuggler – The exciting, true account of one man’s dedication to Christ, and burden to bring God’s Word to those behind the “closed doors” of the Iron Curtain. – by Brother Andrew; Spire.

An Outline For Repentance

Charles. G. Finney
Edited and Paraphrased

This article is for Christians who have had trouble finding the true peace that is promised with conversion. For those who are frustrated because they are constantly struggling with weakness and sin, this could well be the very help they’ve been praying for. Charles Finney saw countless tens of thousands of true conversions and all before the days of radio, TV, or mass publications. We thank God for continuing to anoint and use his writings. Many thousands have been helped by this article to break through to God’s precious forgiveness. Remember one thing as you read this – God loves you so much, and is waiting for you to be thoroughly cleansed by His grace through repentance.

“Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord until He comes to rain righteousness on you… ” Hosea 10:12

The Jews were a nation of farmers, and it is therefore a common thing for God to refer, in the Scriptures, to scenes from their daily lives as illustrations. Hosea addresses them as a nation of backsliders, but uses words that farmers and shepherds are familiar with. He rebukes them for their idolatry and sharply warns them of the impending judgments of God.

Fallow ground is ground which has once been tilled, but has gotten hard and now lies waste. It needs to be broken up and made soft again, before it is ready to receive seed. If you mean to break up the fallow ground of your heart, you must begin by looking at your heart – examine carefully the state of your mind and see where you are. Many people never even seem to think about doing this. They pay no attention to their own hearts, and never know whether they are doing well in their walk with the Lord or not – whether they are bearing fruit or are totally barren. Now you must draw off your attention from all other things and look into this right now! Make a business of it, do not be in a hurry.

Self-examination consists of looking at your life, considering your motives and actions. . . calling up your past and seeing its true character. Look back over your past history. Take up your individual sins one by one, and look at them. This doesn’t mean that you just take a casual glance at your past life, see that it has been full of sin, and then go to God and make a sort of general confession, asking forgiveness. General confessions of sin are not good enough. Your sins were committed one by one; and as much as you are able, they ought to be reviewed and repented of one by one. It’s a good idea to take a pen and some paper as you go over them, and write them down as they come to mind.

Go over them as carefully as a businessman goes over his books; and as often as a sin comes to your memory, write it down! Now begin, and start with what are usually, but improperly, called sins of omission (i.e. things you didn’t do that you should have!).

1) Ingratitude (Unthankfulness). Take this sin, for example, and write down under this heading all the times you can remember where you have received great blessings and favors from God for which you have never given thanks. How many cases can you remember? Some remarkable protection where your life was spared, some wonderful turn of events that saved you from ruin. Write down the instances of God’s goodness to you when you were still in sin, before your conversion, for which you have never been half-thankful enough – and the uncountable mercies you have received since. How long the list of times where your ingratitude has been so black that you are forced to hide your face in shame! Get on your knees and confess them one by one to God, and ask Him to forgive you.

As you’re confessing these, they will immediately remind you of others . . . write them down too. Go over them three or four times in this way, and see what an incredible number of times God has given you mercy for which you have never thanked Him!

2) Lack of Love for God. Think how grieved and alarmed you’d be, if you suddenly realized a great lack of affection for you in your wife, husband, or children – if you saw that someone else had captured their hearts, thoughts, and time. Perhaps in such a case you would almost die with a just and holy jealousy. Now, God calls Himself a jealous God. Have you not given your heart to other loves and infinitely offended Him?

3) Neglect of the Bible. Put down the cases where for perhaps weeks or longer, God’s Word was not a pleasure to you. Some people, indeed, read over whole chapters in such a way that afterwards they could not tell you what they had been reading. If that is so with you, no wonder your life has no direction, and your relationship with God is in such a miserable state.

4) Unbelief. Recall the instances in which you have virtually charged the God of truth with lying, by your unbelief of His express promises and declarations. If you have not believed or expected to receive the blessings which God has clearly promised, you have called Him a liar.

5) Lack of Prayer. Think of all the times you have neglected private prayer, family prayer, and group prayer meetings; or you’ve prayed in such a way as to grieve and offend God more than if you hadn’t prayed at all.

6) Neglect of Fellowship. When you have allowed yourself to make small and foolish excuses that have prevented you from attending meetings. When you have neglected and poured contempt upon the gathering of the saints merely because you “didn’t like church”!

7) The Manner In which You have Performed Spiritual Duties. Think of all the times when you have spoken about God with such a lack of feeling and faith, in such a worldly frame of mind, that your words were nothing more than the mere chattering of a wretch who didn’t deserve that God should listen to him at all. When you have fallen down upon your knees and “said your prayers” in such an unfeeling and careless way that if you had been put under oath five minutes later, you could not say what you had been praying for.

8.) Lack of Love for Souls. Look around at all your friends and relatives, and think of how little compassion you have felt for them. You have stood by and seen them going straight to hell, and it seems as though you didn’t even care! How many days have there been when you have failed to make their wretched condition the subject of even one single fervent prayer, or to prove any real desire for their salvation?

9) Lack of Care for the Poor and Lost in Foreign Lands. Perhaps you have not cared enough about them to even attempt to learn of their condition. Do you avoid missions magazines? How much do you really know or care about the unconverted masses of the world? Measure your desire for their salvation by the self-denial you practice in giving from your substance to send them the Gospel.

Do you deny yourself even the hurtful excesses of life, such as tobacco or alcohol? Do you defend your standard of living? Will you not suffer yourself any inconvenience to save them? Do you daily pray for them in private? Are you setting aside funds to put into the treasury of the Lord when you go up to pray? (As in the story of the widow’s mite – Mark 12:41-44.) If your soul is not agonized for the poor and lost of this world, then why are you such a hypocrite as to pretend to be a Christian? (See Matt. 25:31-46.)

10) Neglect of Family Duties. Think of how you have lived before your family, how you have prayed, what an example you have set before them. What direct efforts do you habitually make for their spiritual welfare?

11) Lack of Watchfulness Over Your Witness. How many times have you failed to take your words and actions seriously? How often have you entirely neglected to watch your conduct and speech, and having been off your guard, you have sinned before the world, the church, and before God!

12) Neglect to Watch Over Your Brethren. How often have you broken your covenant that you would watch over them in the Lord? How little do you know or care about the state of their souls? And yet you are under a solemn duty to watch over them. What have you done to get to know them better? How many times have you seen them falling into sin, and you let them go on? And you pretend to love them? Would you watch your wife or child going into disgrace, or falling into a fire, and hold your peace?

13) Neglect of Self-Denial. There are many professing Christians who are willing to do almost anything in religion that does not require self-denial. They think they are doing a great deal for God, and doing about as much as He ought to reasonably ask, but they are not willing to deny themselves any comfort or convenience whatsoever for the sake of serving the Lord.

They will not willingly suffer reproach for the name of Christ. Nor will they deny themselves the luxuries of life to save a world from hell. They are so far from realizing that self-denial is a condition of discipleship, that they do not even know what it is! They have never really denied themselves a ribbon or a pin for Christ and the Gospel. Some are giving from their abundance, and giving a lot – and will even complain that others do not give more – when in truth, they are not giving anything that they need, or anything that they would enjoy if they kept it. They only give from their surplus wealth!

Now we turn to sins of commission . . .

14) Love of Things and Possessions. What has been the state of your heart concerning your earthly possessions? Have you looked at them as really yours – as if you had a right to use or dispose of them as your own? If you have, write it down! If you have loved property and sought after it for its own sake, or to gratify ambition, you have sinned and must repent.

15) Vanity. How many times have you spent more time decorating your body to go to church, than you have in preparing your heart and mind for the worship of God? You have cared more about how you appeared outwardly to men than how your soul appeared in the sight of God. You sought to divide the worship of God’s house, to draw off the attention of God’s people, to look at your pretty appearance. And you pretend that you do not care anything about having people look at you? Be honest about it! Would you take all this pain about your looks if every person were blind?

16) Envy. Look at the cases in which you were jealous of those who were in a higher position than you. Or perhaps you have envied those who have been more talented or more useful than yourself. Have you not so envied some, that it has caused you pain to hear them praised? It has pleased you more to dwell upon their faults than upon their virtues… upon their failures rather than their successes. Be honest with yourself, and if you have harbored this spirit of hell, then repent deeply before God.

17) Bitterness. Recall all the instances in which you have harbored a grudge or a bitter spirit toward someone, or have spoken of Christians in a manner completely devoid of charity and love. Love “hopes all things,” but you have given no benefit of doubt, and have suspected the worst.

18) Slander (Gossip). Think of all the times you have spoken behind people’s backs of their faults (real or supposed) unnecessarily and without cause. This is slander. You need not lie to be guilty of slander – to tell the truth with the intent to injure is slander.

19) Levity (A spirit of excessive humor). How often have you joked before God, as you would not have dared in the presence of an earthly dignitary or important official. You have either been an atheist and forgotten that God existed – or you have had less respect for Him and His presence than you would have had for a mere judge on earth.

20) Lying. Now understand what lying is. Any form of designed deception is lying. If you purpose to make an impression other than the naked truth, you lie. Put down all those cases you can recollect. Do not call them by any soft names. God calls them lies and charges you with lying, so you’d better charge yourself correctly! Think of all your words, looks, and actions designed to make an impression on others contrary to the truth, for selfish reasons.

21) Cheating. Set down all the cases where you have dealt with anyone in a way you yourself would not like at all. That is cheating. God has said that we should treat all men in the same manner we would like to be treated. (Matt. 7:12) That is the rule. And if you have not done so you are a cheat! God did not say that you shouol do what you would expect them to do, for if that were the rule it would allow for all kinds of wickedness in our actions. But it says, do what you would want them to do to you! (Have you cheated the government? i.e., umemployment insurance, welfare, food stamps, social security, student loans, etc., gained by fraud?)

22) Hypocrisy. For instance, in your prayers and confessions to God, set down all the times in which you have prayed for things you didn’t really want. How many times have you confessed sins that you never intended to stop doing? Yes, you have confessed sins when you knew in your heart you as much expected to go and repeat them, as you expected to live!

23) Robbing God. Think of all the instances in which you have totally misspent your time, squandering the hours which God gave you to serve Him, and save souls. Precious time wasted in vain amusement or worthless conversation, in reading worldly novels, or even doing nothing; cases where you have misused your talents and ability to think. Think of how you have squandered God’s money on your lusts, or spent it for things which you really didn’t need, which did not contribute to your health, comfort, or usefulness. Think of a professing believer using God’s money to poison himself with tobacco or intoxicating drink!

24) Bad Temper. Perhaps you have abused your wife, or your children, or your family, or employees, or neighbors. Write it all down!

25) Hindering Others From Being Useful. You have not only robbed God of your own talents, but tied the hands of somebody else. What a wicked servant is he who not only is useless himself, but hinders the rest! This is done sometimes by taking their time needlessly. Thus you have played into the hands of Satan, and not only proved yourself to be an idle vagabond, but prevented others from working also.

26) Idols and Other Religions. (I found as I was sitting down to write out my sins, that there were whole categories of sins that are common today, that would never even have been spoken of to the church in Finney’s day. Some of these include fornication and sexual sins, the whole area of false peace induced by drugs, and occult involvement – including astrology, witchcraft, meditation, yoga, and the whole gamut of Eastern religions and philosophies, etc. -Keith Green)

Some Important Guidelines To Follow

1) If you find you have committed a fault against anyone, and that person is within your reach, go and confess it immediately and get that out of the way. If they are too far away for you to go and see them, sit down and write them a letter (or better yet call them), confessing the injury you have committed against them. If you have defrauded anybody, send the money – the full amount and the interest.

2) As you go over the catalogue of your sins, be sure to resolve upon immediate and entire reformation. Wherever you find anything wrong, commit yourself at once, in the strength of God, to sin no more in that way. It will be of no benefit to examine yourself unless you determine to change, in every aspect, that which you find wrong in heart, temper, or conduct.

3) Go thoroughly to work in all this! Go now! Do not put it off – that will only make matters worse. Confess to God those sins that have been committed against God, and to man those sins that have been committed against man. Do not think about getting off easy by going around the stumbling blocks. Take them up out of the way. In breaking up your fallow ground, you must remove every obstacle. Things may be left that you may think are little things, and you may wonder why you don’t have your peace with God, when the reason is your proud and carnal mind has covered up something which God has required you to confess and remove.

Unless you take up your sins in this way, and consider them in detail, one by one, you can form no idea of the amount or weight of them. You should go over the list as thoroughly and as carefully and as solemnly as if you were preparing yourself for the Judgment! (I Cor. 11:31)

Successful Evangelism December 1, 2008

There are many different positions in which to evangelize. You may use flyers and adverts very effectively, which must be done. But it needs money, and if you have money, then do it. But remember, the devil will almost certainly steal the word of God out of the hearts of people as soon as they receive the leaflet. If you use this method and put your phone number on an advert, it only works if you are the leader, and have waged and won the battle in the spirit. But now what is another direct way? It is when you initiate the contact with new people yourself.

Your success very much depends on how much you expose yourself. But ultimately what you say will be the same. By this I do not necessarily mean standing on a street corner and preaching to passers by. This does not give enough exposure and connection with individuals when you do this on your own. And if you just stand there and hand out leaflets, you might as well put them in their post boxes. Street soapbox preaching needs much more prayer support to be successful. And it is much less productive than one-to-one evangelism. Moreover, if you have not won the spiritual battle, it can create a natural barrier between you and the people you are trying to reach, and you will actually do much more harm than good. Think of a cell phone salesman – does he stand on a soapbox shouting to everyone, “Buy this phone, it has all the latest features… Buy a phone everybody…” don’t you think people would see him as ridiculous? Who does he represent? Where is he from? How many people would buy his phone? Or a car insurance agent: “You need my car insurance, it’s cheap” and he has nothing to show except his shouting. How successful will he be? Maybe for selling bananas it works, because the bananas are there on the table. But how many soapbox preachers ever have a table with the goods on them?

SO on the other hand, having a table in public where you invite people to talk one-to-one is far more productive, but you have to be as patient as a fisherman and place a sign inviting people to look. Your sign must be professionally done, and your table must be well set out. And you must look the part and not be dressed shabby. Other ways are knocking on doors, but this can be physically strenuous and emotionally draining if people are not there, or people generally do not want to be bothered in their homes. Another way is standing on the street with a clipboard, and you engage people with the first question below. Or combine it with the table. In fact, in every situation where you can engage new people you will say exactly the same thing:

1.   Are you interested in spiritual things? WAIT FOR REPLY

2.   We have meetings where we deal with these spiritual problems: SHOW PREPARED LIST BELOW

Depression, Sadness, Oppression, Loneliness
Unhappy life, Panic attacks, Nervousness,
Diseases, Pains, Migraine, Alcoholism,
Addiction, Suicidal thoughts, Fear of death,
Nightmares, Curses, Jealousy, Victim of Sorcery,
Bad luck, Blockages, Everything goes bad.

3.   ASK THE QUESTIONS:

What would be your number one issue?

Why did you pick that one?

Why is that important to you?

What would happen if you did not get set free?

Why would that worry you?

ASK THESE FIVE QUESTIONS EXACTLY IN ORDER, AND EACH TIME, WAIT FOR THE ANSWER – IT IS IMPORTANT THAT BEFORE YOU SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY, YOU SHOW THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THEM. Memorize the questions and remember their answers. This is vital to winning them TO THESE TWO CLOSING QUESTIONS:

  • Could I show you how to reach a solution by Faith and Meditation? WAIT FOR REPLY

  • I still have a few other people to contact, but I am really interested to talk about this again. Do you have a telephone number?

Always remember that the picture they have formed of Jesus and church is undoubtedly the wrong one that Satan has given them, which is why they aren’t saved. There is therefore no need to mention going to church at this stage. We have to be wiser than a serpent in this, and yet as harmless as doves. We first have to get them to a meeting. And people will come if you have shown an interest in them, and if you speak to them about what they told you of themselves. They are more interested in themselves, and so the more you talk about THEM and the less you talk about YOU, the more easily you win them. This is basic. But that will be done later by phone. When they ask about the faith and meditation part, you can just say “We use the Holy Scriptures”.

God will give you compassion for this. Remember we are saving souls for all eternity. I think of my father who died in the hospital in 1988 without Christ. How many people die like that, exposed to eternity? The devil deceives them all their lives until he has finally got their soul for eternity.

God TV Response

Beloved GOD TV viewer,

In the light of many statements having been released about the
LAKELAND OUTPOURING and concerning Todd Bentley’s marital situation,
we sensed that the Lord has released us to write concerning this
situation, so that you, our viewers would know our heart concerning
this matter.

The first thing we feel led to do is to state unequivocally that in
the same manner as the Lord instructed us to broadcast and serve
TheCall gatherings with Lou Engle; to broadcast what was happening at
the International House of Prayer with Mike Bickle; Rick Joyner and
MorningStar; the Solemn assembly in San Francisco; BattleCry and Teen
Mania with Ron Luce; Focus on the Family’s prayer event for America;
the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem; and hundreds of other
anointed events over the past three years, we believe that the Lord
instructed us to broadcast the Outpouring services at Lakeland with
Todd Bentley.

It was not a mistake.

It was not by mistake.

We believe it was a clear instruction from the Lord.

Over the past twelve years, but especially since our launch in
America, we have in obedience to the Lord searched through the earth
for those events and anointings that the Lord has laid on our hearts
– to amplify their message and anointing to the Body of Christ in
this crucial endtime hour that we live in.

The Lakeland Outpouring with Todd Bentley was one of those events. We
received over 45 000 e-mails many, many of these heart rending,
powerful testimonies from viewers across the earth of their bodies or
their families bodies healed, their lives transformed and their hearts
revived.

None of us have ever seen such significant fruit in all the years of
broadcast.

Far more profound than that were the desperate cries for help. I
(Wendy), would go through the live inbox and see the desperate cries
from mothers, wives, sons and daughters, so many with TERMINALLY ILL
husbands, wives, children, sometimes babies in arms – sensing HOPE
in their situation that for so long had been without hope.

Just reading these prayer requests would bring one to tears –

We are often so cloistered from the agony of peoples day by day real
life agonies – and their agonies were written there.

So much so – that we both sensed that would need the word of the Lord
under the fear of God to stop these broadcasts with the life changing
impact they were having in homes not only in the UK and America but
all across the world. And the Glory of the Living God that was being
imparted.

We both kept a very close pulse on the revival since the start of its
broadcast – we had first hand knowledge of the enormous criticism,
persecution and reviling that Todd Bentley was receiving (often we
were second contenders for it) but it was Todd Bentley and the Fresh
Fire team who received the terrible weight of this.

Todd ministered each day as the revival continued but was
consistently and unrelentingly criticized, maligned, persecuted – the
attacks grew increasingly violent – and the heartbreaking thing was
that so much of it came from the Church.

At the same time, Todd was facing a second wave of attack. This was
from the covens, the warlocks – we heard firsthand concerning some of
these assignments. The enemy had heard of the great honoring of the
Lamb and was determined to destroy it – BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE AND AT
ANY COST.

And the cost was Todd Bentley.

Was it because Todd was vulnerable and certain areas of his life were
not surrendered wholly? Yes – like so many of us – in all
probability.

Was it because the character of Christ was not yet formed in him in
the equivalent measure to his gifting? Yes – like so many of us – in
all probability.

Could it be the case that there by the grace of God go YOU AND I…
Yes – In all probability.

Some of the areas in our lives are watertight and have been honed and
refined and polished by the Lord while still other areas in our lives
are often still in desperate need of attention. We are an ongoing work
and we work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

Well – all ministers who preach should ensure their lives are in
order, you may be saying.

Yes – we and our board and our minister peers across the globe agree
wholeheartedly.

And yet, beloved – unfortunately, THERE ARE TIMES when satan comes
unawares and targets a vulnerable area whose weaknesses only become
apparent under the most enormous and unrelenting pressure brought to
bear.

We believe and of course this is just our personal opinion, that the
revival stirred up the satanic realms in a manner that has rarely been
seen and with a violent wrath.

It is difficult to understand the degree of spiritual battle that
comes against a leader. We have learned we need to protect the move of
God with greater prayer for leaders, including ourselves. The body of
Christ is growing in greater transparency and accountability, and this
too should be a subject of prayer.

Should all of us wait till we are as perfect and as watertight as can
be and mature in every area – that of course, would be the safest
course of action, but the truth is that most of us would be 90 years
old!

The Lord who made us and knows that we are as dust and yet looks on
us with His great mercies and compassions knows this and He the
sovereign God of heaven and earth still chooses to take a GOD-risk on
you and I every day of our lives.

That even under the most intense pressure that we would choose HIM.

That we would love HIM.

That in times of intense duress and temptation that we would follow
HIM.

And let it be so – even more in all our lives, but beloved – let us
not forget so many of those who walk in ministry across the earth
today with such COURAGE and FERVOR and lay their lives down for HIS
CAUSE at great cost to themselves – Todd and Shonnah sowed their lives
to sow the seeds of revival and we believe became a supreme target of
the enemy.

On the June 23rd, Todd actually spoke openly and with great
vulnerability of his and Shonnah’s previous marriage challenges and
how they had faced those challenges and the Lord had begun His work.
He did not try to hide their struggle but shared their ongoing
journey.

As Rick Joyner so wisely put it –

“In marriage, I have learned there are those who admit they have been
through times when they wondered if their marriage would make it, and
then there are liars. Relationships are hard, and the closer they are,
the harder they can be. I tell everyone that I give premarital
counseling to that the Lord has ordained their marriage in order to
kill both of them! That is true. It is also worth it! The greatest
gift He gave to man was marriage and family. However, to have a
marriage that is good, both will have to die to themselves. If either
one does not make the commitment to lay down their life for their mate
and their family, then what was meant to be heaven can be hell.”

It is an ongoing walk – and we all are ongoing works. But the Lord
said something to us some years ago – He said – When you hate sin
because it HURTS ME – then it will lose its grip on you. When you hate
sin because it displeases ME – its hold diminishes.

The Lord also shared with us that someone can be deceived in an AREA
of sin but it does not necessarily mean that in every area of his or
her life or ministry, they were walking in deception as some critics
of the revival may lean to believe.

And who is to judge that the Lord does not hold the violent
unleashing of criticism and faultfinding and tearing down and
divisiveness of the heresy hunters, as severe a sin as separation in a
marriage?

We will find out before the judgement seat in eternity.

One of our greatest grievings has been to see how many in the church
backtracked to protect their own reputations. We have been truly
refreshed by several close ministry friends with their uncompromising
love of truth and lack of a man pleasing spirit that has arisen in the
church in the light of the Lakeland aftermath. They have given us
fresh courage when we grew weary.

So beloved friend –

Do we at GOD TV refute the Outpouring? NO.

We are presently planning to broadcast other offshoots of Lakeland in
both the United Kingdom and America, including revival meetings in
Dudley, England.

We have determined in our hearts to follow the Lord with all our
might as courageously and as boldly as we can, to reject the pressures
to bow to a man pleasing spirit but instead to humble ourselves under
the Fathers leading.

For HE is our all in all.

He is our great desire.

Finally, dear friends, while we defend and rejoice in the many ten
thousands that God lifted and healed, we also know that there were
dear souls, sheep, who were scattered as a result of Todd’s personal
choices. The Bible says that “hope deferred makes the heart sick”
and this is the last thing GODTV would want to see happen. We
arepraying for any that stumbled and believing that the Lord will
restore them to Himself.

Remember: this was never about Todd Bentley. It was always about the
Holy Spirit and the fact that God loved you and I. It was GOD who
touched our lives.

One thing, we felt impressed upon our hearts thirteen years ago when
we first launched this ministry. That the Father will allow none of us
- whether in ministry or as a viewer to hold idolatry in our hearts
for any man.

For the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit alone are to receive our
worship.

We continue on the road to maturity.
We continue our efforts to serve an end time spiritual army.

We continue to try each day to humble ourselves under the mighty hand
of the ONLY one who is worthy of ALL adoration.

Of ALL HONOUR.

Of ALL WORSHIP.

Remember also, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Let’s turn our eyes toward Him and away from our trust in man.

He who sent His only begotten Son.

The Great Father of Compassions.

To Him alone we bow.

Personally we believe that the best is yet to come.

For our King and His Kingdom

Why Does God Hide His Face? November 5, 2008

Why does God hide? Why doesn’t he walk among us like in the garden of eden? Because God is angry with us, and is about to send us all to hell, all of us, unless we come to him by faith. There is nothing that you need to do particularly bad to be sent to hell. Can’t you see the fact that God has not shown himself to you is proof that he is angry with you and is about to give you your punishment. What have you done? You have not acknowledged his rights. Secondly you put no value whatsoever on the moral law. You believe that people can act however they want to and not have any penalty to fear. Nay, you even protect those who have blatantly spoken out against God as unjust, and you cannot be reconciled to God. In truth you are a rebel to any thought of a hell – you think God has no right to dictate what you should do – and yet you ask what have you done?

It is not yours to ask that any more, but to consider your predicament. Here, in a world without mercy, without God, as you have noticed he has not shown himself to the world. And do unbelievers wait to see if God is real “let him show himself alive now”. No – you sinner, have to bend, not God, and if you do not, then you are in the broad road that leads to destruction. The truth is, you do not have to do anything at all to be sent to hell, you have done nothing so far for your salvation, you are still in your sins, and God cannot be found. So what will become of you, but to be cast away and be burned? But it need not be so. God wants you to come to him by faith.

God has shown enough of himself when Jesus Christ came to the earth. Do you want Jesus to come again to the earth and die again for you to see him? He will never do that. No, he will not do anything more to show you himself. He has given you a bible in your hand that you may find life if you would. But you will get nothing more. It would only make you worse, and more guilty as a sinner if he should give you more. No – he will never do that.

Revival is very simple. The reason we do not see revival is because we need to change a few small things in our teachings. I have put together the following newsletter to explain exactly what we need to change, and we will see revival.

www.charlesfinney.com/finney/LondonEvangelist/0411_01_The_London_Evangelist.pdf

Do you agree with this teaching? Can you teach it in your churches, and nothing else? Nothing is more common than to take this teaching and mix it with other teaching. That is not the way. This is the only thing you need to teach. And if you want more, then enroll for training at our Bible School.

Coming To Christ October 2, 2008

In church we come to Christ. Coming to Christ means we leave our sins behind. We first have to bring them to our remembrance. This is how. In church, when we come to the front, we bring a paper we have written with our sins. Then we leave the paper behind. If we do not do this, then both we and our unsaved loved ones will go to hell – YOU, for being a bad example. Your unsaved family knows that YOU have to repent, and IF YOU DO NOT REPENT, NEITHER WILL THEY.

This is the paper to fill up:

.
Material Things
Getting revenge, and repaying others, for wrong things done to you. Collecting money and not sharing it. Write it down.

Pride
What about the way you look? Do you want people to admire you? Who have you tried to impress?

Envy
Jealous about people more successful than you. Who have you been jealous of? Have you even envied certain Christian leaders? Name them.

Criticalness
Speaking about Christians, churches and ministers in a negative way.

Slander
Spoiling the reputation of others. Whose reputation have you spoiled?

Carelessness
Acting like you can come and go in church without confessing and giving up your sins. Is this you? Say yes.

Lying
Any lies you have told. What are they? Write them down. Even if you deceived people without speaking, it’s still lies.

Cheating
Taking advantage of others. Who have you taken advantage of?

Hypocrite
If you feel ashamed about things you have done in your life, write them down. Do you confess sins that you do not expect to quit? Which sins are those? Are your prayers empty and meaningless?

Wasting Time and Money
Reading or watching rubbish. Or doing nothing at all. Wasting money on useless goods. What goods are these?

Bad Temper
Abusing others. Who have you abused?

Hindering Others
Stopping others from getting saved. Speakng to Pastor about other things, and not about church. Who have you talked to about worldly things? Even in church? Write the name of the person you mis-guided.

The Spiritual Journal – Building A Strong Church Through Daily Devotional October 2, 2008

Every Christian must spend some time, daily, in contemplating his relationship with God, in private. This is called a “Daily Devotional”. Just like a balanced diet of food is needed to live, A Christian must have a BALANCED daily devotional where every area is equally addressed. The “Daily Devotional” is the most basic activity in the church. Sometimes it is called a “quiet time”. Some people get it by reading a book called “Daily Bread”. However, this book is written for the masses. It does not look at YOU as an individual. YOUR devotional must be a book that YOU write. It must be PERSONAL.

A strong church is made up of strong Christians. They are the building blocks. The smallest unit of any building are the blocks. The stronger the individual blocks, the stronger the building. We will later look at how to join the blocks together. Which makes the building even stonger, because the blocks are constrained and compacted in position from all around. But for now, the issue is the BLOCKS THEMSELVES, meaning YOU as an individual member -

Do you have a balanced daily devotional? This is how to do it:

Buy a blank LARGE exercise book, with about 60 blank sides of pages. Write on the front THE SPIRITUAL JOURNAL.

Write the following 14 items (with their descriptions) in the book, and leave a space beneath each item to write below. In fact, leave about 4 pages under each item, which you will fill up daily as you go along.

So, write one item (with its description), then leave ABOUT 4 BLANK PAGES. Then write the next item, and so on.

Are You Ready?

Once you have prepared the book, you are ready to begin your daily devotional, preferably in the morning. Spend at least 30 minutes a day contemplating, and writing things down in the book. Spend about 2 minutes on each item. Keep it brief and sincere. You can even also help ONE new believer to start The Spiritual Journal. Don’t be too proud, and feel you must instruct others, or to stand aloof, but you do it yourself first. Then you can instruct others. Do not try to get certain feelings, just be perfectly honest. The items are chosen to recognise our failings, and to keep us humble and dependent on God. Don’t worry if you write just a little; that is all you are required to do. But do it EVERY DAY. Some areas hit you. They hit me too. Don’t cover it up. We can only grow by admitting our failures, and depending on God. These are the 14 Items, with their descriptions: (whenever you write a new thing, add the day and month, for example 02/10)

Forgetting What God Has Done
Here you must keep a record of all that God has done for you in your life. Also keep a record of everything he does for you in future.

Lack of Love To God
Ways you can show God that you love him

Neglect Of The Bible
Write down how you could read the Bible better. As you read the Bible, Keep a record here of which chapters you read and what understanding you get from the chapter

Unbelief
Anything you are not confident about. Remind yourself of the things God has done. Things that you have prayed for, and that you now believe will happen.

Lack of Prayer
Write down anything you have not asked for. Keep a record here of things you pray for, whenever you pray

Neglecting Participation
How you could participate more in church

Lifeless Service To God
Confess when you feel your participation has been dry and meaningless

Careless About Unsaved Friends and Family
Explain any difficulty you have in sharing the gospel to them. Write down the story about how you came to salvation.

Careless About ANY Unsaved Person In The World
List the unsaved people that you do not know, but you see them every day. I mean ANY. You may know their names, or you may not. Would you give them even a tract? Write down the people who brought you to Christ, and how they did it.

Bad Example To Your Family
Things you have done which you later regretted.

Bad Example In Church
Things you have said and done which you are now embarrassed about. Where you have been spiritually blind about the way you live

Bad Example To The World
Things you have done which make people doubt your sincereness. Where you have lacked integrity, not working when you are paid to do a job. Or, you even stole something.

Not Helping Your Fellow Believers To Grow
Write down the names of your fellow believers who you talk with, and pray with every day. Also write down where you can go to learn how to strengthen the faith of fellow believers

Not Giving Up Your Reputation Or Comforts In Life
Things that you worry about. If you feel very stupid about your worries, then write it here.
